The air in the room is thick with a mix of scents from the piles of stuff everywhere. Ornate golden plates are crammed into every corner. Turmeric, sandalwood, sweets, shiny gold coins, clothes, and all sorts of miscellaneous objects are scattered around. A bunch of workers are bustling through the room adding more to the existing material.
"How's everything coming along, Mahitha?" I ask the head maid, scanning the room to check on everything that's been set up.
"Preparations are going well, Maharaja. The decorators have already begun their work on the arrangements." She narrows her eyes with a hint of command to a worker to carefully place the plate of fruits.
I nod in acknowledgment. "Keep me updated on the progress and make sure nothing falls short."
"Maharaja," Vibhiraj steps into the chamber, dipping his head in a polite bow. He steals furtive glances around the room before closing the distance between us. "He's here. He wants to talk about Maharani."
